For guest houses and self-catering

Take bookings on your own page, not on somebody else's

A proper page for your guest house, with your rooms, your photographs and your own rates. Guests find you, look around, and tell you when they are coming.

Free for 7 days, no card. From R100 a month after that, cancel any time.

Sound familiar?

What it costs you now

  • A guest finds your place through a listing site, and the site keeps a cut of a booking that was always yours.
  • Somebody phones at half past nine at night to ask whether you have a room for Friday.
  • Your best photographs are on your phone and on a Facebook page nobody scrolls back through.
  • A family compares three places in your town and picks the one whose rooms they could actually see.

What you get

This is the page, not a picture of one

Every screen below is the real thing, photographed on a phone.

Your own page, at your own address

Your rooms, your photographs, your rates and your phone number, at a link you can paint on a board. Nobody takes a cut of it and nobody puts a competitor underneath it.

Guests pick their dates and see what is free

Load each room once with what it sleeps and what it costs. A guest chooses their nights, sees what is open, and books the one they want.

A guest house page showing two rooms free for chosen dates, each with a nightly rate and a total
Choosing dates. This one is our own demo farm, so nobody's real rates are on it

The enquiry arrives with the dates already in it

No more working out what somebody means by next weekend. Their nights, how many people, and anything you should know, in one message.

The design we start you on: Retreat

For guest houses, B&Bs and lodges. The property itself fills the hero, facilities read at a glance, and the whole page takes its time.

Change it for any of the others whenever you like.

Before you start

6 questions, and 4 of them are optional

This is the whole list. Anything you leave blank is simply left off your page.

What we ask you

  1. NeededWhere are you?
  2. NeededWhat do guests book?
  3. OptionalHow many people can you sleep in total?
  4. OptionalIs breakfast included?
  5. OptionalWhat are your check-in and check-out times?
  6. OptionalAre pets or children welcome?

Photographs to have ready

  • The outside of the place, in good light

The one photo a guest decides on. Take it in the morning or late afternoon, from far enough back to show the whole building and a bit of the garden.

  • Each type of room or unit you let

One clear photo of each, made up and tidy, curtains open. A guest who cannot see the room they are booking phones somebody who shows theirs.

  • A bathroom (optional)

Guests look for this and are suspicious when it is missing. It does not need to be styled, it needs to be clean and lit.

  • The garden, pool, stoep or view (optional)

Whatever makes staying with you different from staying at a motel on the N1.
